How it works

Enter the sale price, any shipping you charge, and what the watch cost you. The calculator applies each channel’s fee rules and ranks them by what lands in your account. Every fee is editable under “Edit fee settings”, because rates change and dealers negotiate. Defaults are as of October 2026; verify with the marketplace before you list.

The fee rules we use

A worked example

An $8,500 watch, no shipping charged, 7% sales tax collected by eBay. eBay’s fee runs on $9,095: $150 on the first $1,000, $422.50 on the next $6,500, and $47.85 on the last $1,595, plus $0.40, for $620.75 (7.3% of the price). Chrono24 at 6.5% is $552.50. A card payment costs $246.80, and a wire $15. Selling direct by wire keeps about $600 more than eBay on the same watch.

That doesn’t make marketplaces a bad deal. They bring buyers you don’t have yet. The point is to price knowing the cost of the channel. Our WristBook vs Chrono24 comparison explains how dealers use both, and the eBay integration books eBay fees onto the deal automatically. Frequently asked questions

What are eBay's fees for selling a watch?
In the Watches, Parts & Accessories category, eBay charges a final value fee of 15% on the first $1,000 of the total sale, 6.5% on the portion from $1,000 to $7,500, and 3% above $7,500, per item, plus a $0.40 per-order fee on orders over $10. The total sale includes shipping and sales tax the buyer pays.
What commission does Chrono24 charge dealers?
Chrono24 doesn't publish one commission rate for commercial dealers. Dealers pay a monthly package fee based on listing count and a sales commission shown per watch in the dealer revenue calculator. Private sellers pay a published 6.5%, which is the calculator's starting value. Enter your own rate.
Is eBay or Chrono24 cheaper for an expensive watch?
Because eBay's watch fee drops to 3% above $7,500, its effective rate falls as the price rises, and on high-value watches it can come in under a flat percentage commission. On cheaper watches the 15% first tier makes eBay the more expensive channel. Run your own price through the calculator to see where the lines cross.
What does it cost to take a card payment directly?
Stripe's standard US rate is 2.9% plus $0.30 per successful domestic card charge, with extra for manually keyed, international or currency-converted cards. A wire usually costs only your bank's incoming wire fee, often around $15 to $30.
